X-Controller – Part 2: A Closer Look at the XCO

Welcome back to another blog post about our new, fully IP-capable X-Controller (XCO). In the first blog post we gave you an overall introduction to it. Now, let´s have a closer look.

PoE, Several Network Interfaces and Operation Status at the Front

At the front of the module you have different LEDs for signaling the operation status (1), a reset button (2), a service interface (3) as well as a service button (4).

One of the two USB-3.0 interfaces (5) is used as service interface, the other for future use. Two of the four RJ45 Ethernet interfaces (6) can be used to supply the module with PoE, if necessary, in redundancy mode. And the other two RJ45 Ethernet interfaces are for further Ethernet connections.

Control Inputs and Outputs at the Rear

At the rear side, you have the connection for an external DC power supply (7) and the interface for 12 control inputs and outputs (8). Further, there are up to three inputs (9) to read in or monitor external contacts, for example. Then you have a display port (10) and two more USB interfaces (11) for future use.

Simplify your Projects

As mentioned before, the X-Controller comes with all required accessories to start right out of the box. This means that all required cables and terminal blocks are included in a so-called Preferred Module. INDUSTRONIC has defined two of them for the X-Controller to simplify your projects. The first one consists of the X-Controller and a power supply cable.

The second includes additional connection cables and the terminal block for connection of up to 12 control inputs and outputs.

So, this is our new X-Controller – the intelligent, fully IP-based processor unit of our INTRON-X system for scalable and modern intercom, PA/GA and PA solutions.
