On June 24, the kick-off event for the local inventor competition “Creative Minds” took place, which was organized by the eponymous association. The aim is to encourage young people to take an interest in STEM topics (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). This evening, young inventors presented their creative project ideas to a panel of experts from different local Wertheim companies. With the experts’ support, the students will turn their ideas into reality between July and October.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the competition. In previous years, numerous creative projects have been brought to life with enthusiasm and teamwork. Some of the creative minds have already participated several times. Wolfgang Stallmeyer, chairman of the association “Creative Minds”, reflected on the last 15 years, emphasizing the great team spirit. There are always lots of inventive, sometimes surprising and unique ideas. Digitalization is becoming an increasingly important aspect of the projects. However, we also welcome projects with a mechanical approach.

INDUSTRONIC is supporting Amelie Roth from the Comenius Realschule (secondary school) in Wertheim in implementing her “Easy Roll Handcart” idea, appointing Jonas Wukovich, a young, committed expert, to assist her. In this project, a handcart will be equipped with a push aid powered by a small engine, similar to those found on e-bikes, to facilitate the transport of heavy loads.

The finalized projects will be presented to a selected jury on October 15. The jury consists of members from various professional backgrounds, including the economic sector, scientific research, education, and public sector. The award ceremony will take place on November 18. INDUSTRONIC is excited to see the young inventors bring their ideas to life and is proud to be part of this great competition again.
