Creative Minds Competition 2026: Smart Technology for Healthy Plants

The “Creative Minds” competition once again brings together young inventors and experts from local companies to transform innovative ideas into real projects. The competition encourages students to explore STEM subjects and develop practical solutions for everyday challenges with the support of experienced mentors.

This year, INDUSTRONIC is supporting Micha Götz and Simon Bund as they develop their innovative project together with their mentors Jan Nadler, Jonas Wukovich, and Christin Withopf from INDUSTRONIC. Their idea is a smart flower pot that automatically monitors soil moisture and waters plants whenever necessary.

What makes the project even more innovative is its integrated fertilizer system. In addition to supplying water, the flower pot can automatically mix fertilizer in the correct amount to ensure optimal plant care. Small integrated tanks store both water and fertilizer and can easily be refilled.

The team is also planning to connect the system to a mobile app. This would allow users to monitor and control the flower pot remotely, making it easy to keep plants healthy even while away on holiday.

Although automatic watering systems already exist, the combination of intelligent fertilization and app based monitoring makes this concept a unique solution. It is designed not only for passionate plant lovers but also for anyone who would like healthy plants without needing a green thumb.

We are looking forward to supporting the team throughout the competition and are excited to see their idea come to life.
