The 2 XDG 0x1 module acts as a network bridge to supply up to two INDUSTRONIC terminal devices with power and data via a 2-/4-wire connection. Both an Ethernet and a fiber-optic version are now available.

The Ethernet version eliminates the inherent distance limitation to a maximum of 100 meters, which often results in the costly use of additional switches or repeaters between the end device and the network connection point in typical system dimensions. The achievable range of the XDG is many times greater and thus creates valuable degrees of freedom in system planning by allowing difficult installation areas for network equipment, such as hazardous areas, to be avoided. Existing 2-/4-wire infrastructures can also be utilized, which significantly reduces the degree of investment required for system renewals.

The fiber optic version with an integrated SFP interface allows simple and direct connection of our end devices to fiber optic backbones – and the local power supply at the terminal device is then also eliminated.
