The idea of being locked in an elevator for an extended period of time while using the elevator gives many people a queasy feeling. But unfortunately, this scenario can occur in reality. For the safety of people who use elevators, there is the elevator emergency call to call for help quickly and efficiently in an emergency situation.
The various laws and standards show that the elevator emergency call is not just an insignificant function within a communication system. For example, according to the current Operational Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV) in Germany, it is specified that all elevators must be equipped with an emergency call guidance system that enables a direct voice connection between the elevator and the assistance personnel. And EN 81-28 has also been renewed in this respect.
Through continuous innovation, INDUSTRONIC has already been offering a TÜV-approved elevator emergency call solution since 2015 to meet the safety requirements. Following the success of our DS002, the 1 DLS 705 (launched in July 2021) now makes the hardware more compact and the elevator emergency call solution even more flexible. Now the 1 DLS 705 can be substituted for up to three intercom stations on and in the elevator. Simple communication from the car roof for service use is just as possible as an extension for shaft communication with a remote operating unit under the car floor. Operating and display elements existing in the car are also integrated and can be used from there.
Like all INDUSTRONIC intercom stations, this solution is monitored by our system and any malfunction is immediately transmitted to the control center. In addition, an automatic test of all elevator intercom stations, including emergency call triggering and acoustic test, can be easily configured at freely selectable intervals. The test takes place in the background and the control center is only notified in the event of a fault. The result of each test is saved in a log file and can also be made available in parallel by e-mail.
The INDUSTRONIC elevator emergency call solution is ideal for customers who have a permanently manned control center such as the fire department, security or on-call service located on the plant premises. Existing systems can also be expanded to include an elevator emergency call system. In case a machine room intercom is also required according to EN 81-20:2020 (5.12.3.2), you will also find a suitable variant in our product portfolio.
