General project description

The Dahej Manufacturing Division plant is spread over 800 hectares. The caustic soda, VCM and PVC plants were commissioned in phase one in 1997. The HDPE and MEG plant, the ethane / propane recovery plant and the gas cracker unit were commissioned later in 2000. In 2012, it was decided to equip the new manufacturing facility of Dahej complex with new Public Address and Intercom Systems.

Project scope

  • Task: Engineering, delivery and commissioning support
  • System: Intercom and Public Address system
  • Scope of delivery/details:
    • A total of 7 INTRON-D plus central exchange cabinets linked via Ethernet network provided by the customer on site.
    • Each cabinet is equipped with a redundant central exchange unit as well as a 1+1 power supply unit.
    • 37 master intercom stations in the control centers
    • 37 desktop intercom stations for indoor use as well as 237 weather-proof, and 222 explosion-proof intercom stations
    • The majority of the outdoor intercom stations are equipped with additional 25-W booster amplifiers and the corresponding horn speakers. The remaining ones are further equipped with flashing warning beacons.
    • Connection to the fire & gas detection system via Modbus TCP
    • Interfaces to the local alarm system and telephone system
  • Schedule: Order received in March/April 2013, delivery in July/August 2013, commissioning in progress
  • Parties involved in the project: Reliance Engineering Group in cooperation with the Indian partner DeeEm Systems. Commissioning will be performed by the local INDUSTRONIC partner in India.
