Petrochemical Complex No. 2 consisting of naphtha cracker unit, HD4 and PP3 production unit

General project description

In 2006, Dow Chemicals and the Siam Cement Group, one of the largest companies in Thailand, decided to set up a second petrochemical complex together in Map Tha Put, Thailand.
A joint venture was concluded between the two companies for the project.
The first stage of the project will see the development of a naphtha cracker, and HD (High Density) and PP (Polypropylene) production units.

Project scope

  • Task: Engineering, delivery, commissioning
  • System: Intercom, public address, warning and alarm system
  • Scope of delivery / details: 8 master call stations, 110 explosion-proof and weather-proof outdoor call stations, 6,000 W amplifier output, 450 explosion-proof and weather-proof loudspeakers, 5 INTRON-D central exchanges, networking via glass fiber cable
  • Schedule: Contract awarded in January 2008, delivery in February 2009, commissioning in 2010
  • Parties involved in the project: Developed directly with the end customer and with on-site support from the local partner

Special features

The individual intercom and PA/GA systems for the independent plants and plant operators were intelligently networked to implement complex-wide communication as well as a warning and general alarm system.
