Working on an onshore or offshore drilling rig is a demanding job, performed in an extremely harsh environment<\/strong>. The prevailing, potentially explosive atmosphere adds to this challenge. This makes effective communication between the drilling staff all the more important, as it contributes significantly to the safety of the entire drilling rig.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drillers must be able to communicate clearly<\/strong> and coordinate quickly with each other. However, when working on a rig, it is often not practical to constantly use keys or devices, especially in areas such as the Monkey Board, Drill Floor, Moon Pool or Shale Shaker. For environments where hands must be free for other activities, Driller’s Intercom with Handsfree Duplex<\/strong> from INDUSTRONIC is the perfect solution.<\/p>\n\n\n

An example:<\/strong> The driller on the Monkey Board must coordinate the next step with the Driller’s Cabin. To do this, he presses the key once on his outdoor\/Ex intercom station<\/strong>, which has the Driller’s Cabin programmed as the target. A full duplex connection is immediately established between the Monkey Board and Driller’s Cabin<\/strong> – i.e. both can speak and listen at the same time. Neither party has to press another key during the course of the conversation. The hands remain free and the drillers can proceed with their work while speaking. Likewise, the Driller’s Cabin can also establish a full duplex connection<\/strong> to the Monkey Board or any other intercom station (e.g. Moon Pool) at any time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If required, the entire drilling staff can also confer by setting up a joint full duplex conference<\/strong> Each intercom station is equipped with the hands-free duplex feature, allowing every participant to speak and listen at any time\u2014without having to press a key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the integrated echo cancellation, no acoustic feedback occurs – even in noisy environments. Optionally, each outdoor \/ Ex intercom station can be extended with a headset and\/or foot switch<\/strong>. Additionally, an external 25-W speaker can be connected.\u00a0
