General project description

Angola LNG is a joint venture consisting of the investors Sonangol, Chevron, BP, Total, and Eni. The plant operates one of the most modern processing facilities in the world and has the potential to produce approx. 5 million tons of liquid gas per day for domestic and international markets. The export of liquid gas started in early 2012.

Project scope

  • Task: Engineering, delivery, commissioning
  • System: Intercom, public address, warning and general alarm system
  • Scope of delivery/details:
    • 5 INTRON-D central exchange cabinets connected via redundant fiber optic links
    • 7500 Watts amplifier output, approx. 1000 loudspeakers
    • 2 master intercom stations, approx. 200 explosion-proof and weather-proof loudspeakers, approx. 35 monitored flashing warning beacons
    • System design according to AS 60849 (Australian Standard)
    • Integrated ESD (Emergency Shutdown) interface
    • VoIP telephone interface
    • Redundant exchange control board with IP interface
    • NTP time synchronization with a satellite-based time server of the customer’s network. It automatically sets the time of the DXC exchange control board for event and error logging
  • Schedule: Contract awarded in December 2009, delivered in July 2010, commissioned in 2011
  • Parties involved in the project: EPC contractors: Bechtel USA, Telecommunication Package: Alcatel Lucent Australia. The project was managed by Western Advance, our local partner in Australia.
