General project description

BASF SE in Ludwigshafen has become the world's largest continuous chemical area. In the main BASF plant with approx. 160 intelligent interconnected production sites, a wide range of products is manufactured in a cost-effective way.

Project scope

  • Task: Planning, delivery and commissioning
  • System: General alarm, public address and communication systems
  • Scope of delivery/details: 4 INTRON-D main systems and 150 INTRON-D sub-systems with over 50,000 W amplifier output
  • Schedule: 2004 planning, from 2005 delivery of main centers and up to the end of 2008 delivery of the 150 public address systems (sub-systems)
  • Parties involved in the project: Implementation directly with the end customer

Special features

Implementation of a complete plant warning system for the largest continuous chemical industrial site in the world. The master INTRON-D system for the fire service controls 3 further main systems in the plant. The 150 INTRON-D systems and 50 external systems are connected to this system. All connected systems in the departments can be accessed via two INTRON-D service PC operating stations. All networking is carried out via fiber optic cable.
